GO Committee Reviews Habitat for Humanity Property Tax Credit Bill

The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy (GO) Committee meets July 9, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to review Bill 15-26, which would establish a 100 percent property tax credit for properties owned by Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland or affiliates that are slated for rehabilitation and transfer to a private owner. The credit would take effect beginning in tax year July 1, 2027, and requires an annual report from entities receiving the credit. Lead sponsor is Councilmember Andrew Friedson; all councilmembers have cosponsored the bill.
