Historical Activities NDA Budget Cut 19% as Anniversary Funding Ends

The Montgomery County Council will review the Historical Activities Non-Departmental Account FY27 Operating Budget of $184,235 on May 4, 2026, a decrease of $44,287 (19.4%) from FY26. The drop is largely due to the elimination of one-time funding for the County 250th Anniversary Black Resistance Oral History Initiative. The joint EC/PHP Committee recommended placing $15,000 in one-time funding on the reconciliation list to continue the initiative.
