IRS Warns of Charity Scams; Offers Identity Protection PINs

The Community Action Agency's VITA team is highlighting two recent IRS Tax Tips: Tax Tip 2026-58 warns taxpayers about scams involving false charitable organizations, advising use of the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search Tool before donating. Tax Tip 2026-56 explains how any U.S. taxpayer, including those abroad, can obtain an Identity Protection PIN to guard against identity theft on their IRS account.
