Joint Committee Reviews $420M VIVA White Oak Bond Bill

The joint Government Operations and Fiscal Policy (GO) and Economic Development (ECON) Committee will meet on July 23, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to review Expedited Bill 31-26, which would authorize the County to issue up to $420 million in special obligation bonds for projects in the VIVA White Oak Development District. The bonds would be special obligations of the County and would not constitute general obligations or pledge the County's full faith and credit. The bill allows the County Executive discretion to sell bonds at private or public competitive bid sale.
