Joint EC-HHS Committee Reviews Early Care and Education FY27 Budget

The joint Education and Culture (EC) and Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will meet on April 22, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. to review the FY27 Operating Budget for the Early Care and Education NDA ($16.3 million, up 4.2%) and the Children's Opportunity Alliance NDA ($794,852, up 2.5%) within DHHS. The County Executive recommends an overall decrease of $3.7 million (6.3%) for the entire DHHS Children, Youth and Families service area, primarily due to an internal reorganization shifting behavioral health school-based services to a separate division.
