Leul Dawit of Northwood High Sworn In as 49th MCPS SMOB

Leul Dawit of Northwood High School has been elected and sworn in as the 49th Student Member of the Board (SMOB) of the Montgomery County Board of Education. The SMOB position gives students a formal voice on the school board. The swearing-in was announced by Councilmember Kate Stewart in her July 16, 2026 newsletter.
