Luedtke, Katz Host Shady Grove Solid Waste Community Meeting Sept. 2

Councilmembers Dawn Luedtke and Sidney Katz will host a community meeting on September 2, 2026, from 7–8:30 p.m. at the MCDOT Division of Highway Services Depot (17000 Crabbs Branch Way) to discuss Montgomery County's consideration of shifting to long-haul landfilling of solid waste. The Department of Environmental Protection will present and take questions on potential community impacts. The meeting is aimed at residents of Rockville, Derwood, Shady Grove, and Washington Grove adjacent to the Shady Grove Transfer Station.
