MCDOT Builds Four Bike Projects in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Wheaton

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has four bicycle infrastructure projects currently under construction: the Capital Crescent Surface Trail Phase 2 (0.25 mi, Bethesda, est. Summer 2026), a Grosvenor Shared Use Path on MD 355 (0.20 mi, est. Late 2026), the Metropolitan Branch Trail Phase 2A (0.60 mi, Silver Spring, est. Early 2027), and the McComas Avenue Neighborhood Greenway (1.20 mi, Wheaton, est. Late 2026). Combined, the four projects will add more than two miles of bike pathways to the County. An additional 20 projects totaling nearly 18 miles are in the planning or design phase.
