MCDOT Launches 30-Project Spring Sidewalk Construction Push

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has 30 sidewalk projects totaling six miles of new walkways in active planning or construction under its Annual Sidewalk Program this spring. An additional four projects totaling 1.3 miles are underway under the Safe Routes to School program, and 2.7 miles of new sidewalk are proposed to connect residents to the Purple Line, scheduled to open in winter 2027. The combined investment across all three programs totals nearly $10 million.
