MCDOT Safe Routes to School Walkability Studies Begin at 15 Schools

MCDOT Aug 20, 2026
MCDOT's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program has selected 15 schools for walkability studies aimed at identifying safer crossings and filling sidewalk gaps. The program completed 15 infrastructure projects and built nearly two miles of sidewalks near schools last year. MCDOT will attend back-to-school nights at the selected schools and is promoting a survey to collect safety concern feedback from the community.
