MCDOT Upgrades Bel Pre Road Pedestrian Safety Near Argyle Middle School

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is implementing safety improvements along the western edge of Bel Pre Road from Rippling Brook Road to Layhill Road in Silver Spring. Upgrades include a new traffic signal at Rippling Brook Drive near Argyle Middle School, reduced lane widths, median barriers to prevent illegal left turns, high-visibility crosswalks, and leading pedestrian intervals at Plaza Del Mercado Driveway and Parker Farm Way. Projects are expected to be completed by the end of October 2026.
