MCPS Receives $3.7B, $156.6M Above State Requirement

The Montgomery County Council allocated more than $3.7 billion in operating funds to Montgomery County Public Schools for FY27, which is $143.7 million more than the prior year and $156.6 million above the state Maintenance of Effort requirement. MCPS will also receive $357.1 million in FY27 capital funding and more than $1.9 billion over the six-year CIP period for school modernization and expansion. Capital highlights include maintaining the construction schedule for Damascus High School and Eastern Middle School and fully funding school security systems.
