Noyes Library for Young Children Breaks Ground on Renovation

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Councilmember Kate Stewart, and Kensington Mayor Tracey Furman joined elected officials for a groundbreaking ceremony on May 9, 2026, marking the start of renovations to the Noyes Library for Young Children at 10237 Carroll Place in Kensington. The project will add ADA-compliant restrooms, an elevator, a finished basement for programming, and a second-floor staff space while preserving the historic building's character. Funding comes from Montgomery County General Obligation Bonds, State of Maryland bonds, the Noyes Children's Library Foundation, and the Town of Kensington.
