Poolesville Students Install Meadow Sod at Smith Eco Center

Students from Poolesville High School's Global Ecology Program installed meadow sod containing native grasses and flowers at the Lathrop E. Smith Environmental Education Center in Rockville. Montgomery County's Department of Environmental Protection is trialing the sod in two locations with different soil preparations to evaluate its stormwater filtration performance. Results will inform potential future use in RainScapes stormwater garden projects.
