Red Line Suspended Between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights July–September

WMATA will suspend Red Line Metrorail service between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights stations from July 6 through September 7, 2026, closing Grosvenor–Strathmore, Medical Center, and Bethesda stations. During the shutdown, both a local shuttle and an express shuttle will serve the affected corridor. Train service will operate in two separate segments: Shady Grove to North Bethesda and Friendship Heights to Glenmont.
