School Bus Camera Fines, Police Enforcement Ramp Up Aug. 25

Montgomery County Police will deploy officers countywide to enforce dangerous driving behaviors around school zones starting with the first day of school on Aug. 25. All MCPS school buses are equipped with cameras that automatically fine drivers $250 per violation for illegally passing a stopped bus. Drivers stopped by an officer face fines up to $570 and three points on their license.
