Sidewalk, Bikeway Projects Planned Near Purple Line Stations in East County

As part of the FY27 Vision Zero Work Plan, MCDOT and SHA are improving pedestrian and cyclist connections to future Purple Line and Bus Rapid Transit infrastructure. Sidewalk projects are planned around four Purple Line stations in East County, and nine bikeway projects are underway including completing construction of the Capital Crescent Trail between Bethesda and Silver Spring. New sidewalks and a shared use path are also beginning along Veirs Mill Road as part of the Bus Rapid Transit project.
