State Begins Construction on University Blvd West Pedestrian Safety Corridor

The State Highway Administration is advancing pedestrian safety projects along New Hampshire Avenue (MD 650) near the Beltway, with ongoing construction already underway. New construction is also starting along University Boulevard West (MD 193) between Georgia Avenue (MD 97) and Colesville Road (US 29). These projects are part of SHA's Pedestrian Safety Action Plan and are included in Montgomery County's FY27 Vision Zero Work Plan.
