TE Committee Briefed on WMATA Red Line Shutdown Mitigation

The Transportation and Environment (TE) Committee will meet March 2, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to receive a briefing from WMATA, SHA, and MCDOT on mitigation measures for the planned Red Line shutdown between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights. The shutdown is scheduled to run from July 6, 2026 to Sept. 6, 2026 for maintenance work and Purple Line connection to Bethesda Metrorail Station. Committee members include Chair Evan Glass, Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe, and Councilmember Stewart.
