Veirs Mill Road Flash BRT Route Planned for 2028 Opening

MCDOT announced that a second Flash Bus Rapid Transit corridor along Veirs Mill Road — connecting Montgomery College Rockville to Wheaton — is planned to open for service in 2028. The US 29 corridor is the first of eight total planned Flash BRT routes in Montgomery County. Flash BRT stations feature real-time information displays, lighting, seating, and enhanced pedestrian infrastructure.
