MCDOTJun 9, 2026
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will adjust parking days, hours, and rates at County-operated garages, lots, and street meters in Downtown Wheaton effective Monday, July 1, 2026. Weekday hourly rates will increase to $1.75/hr (garages), $2.00/hr (lots), and $2.50/hr (street meters), up from $1.00–$1.25/hr. Saturday parking will become free under the new structure; Sundays were already free. The changes were approved by the County Council as part of the FY2027 budget and reflect recommendations from the Wheaton Urban District following a community survey.
