The Public Safety Committee will meet Monday, Feb. 2, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to review Bill 4-25, which would require impact reports and adopted regulations before the County acquires or uses new surveillance technology. The bill would also limit facial recognition technology use consistent with state law and mandate annual reports and public hearings. Lead sponsors are Councilmembers Kristin Mink and Kate Stewart, with Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe and Councilmember Dawn Luedtke as cosponsors.
