FBI, MCPD Bust $49M International Fraud Call Centers

The FBI Baltimore Field Office, Montgomery County Police Department, and State's Attorney's Office announced the takedown of international scam call centers in India linked to government impersonation and tech support fraud schemes. India's Central Bureau of Investigation dismantled the operations in December 2025, arresting six Indian nationals; U.S. losses totaled approximately $48.8 million across roughly 660 victims nationwide, with nearly $6.3 million in losses among approximately two dozen Maryland victims. In Montgomery County, eight individuals have been arrested since 2024 and six convictions have been secured.
