EC Committee Hears MCPS Class Size, New Staffing Standards

The Education and Culture Committee will receive a briefing on MCPS class sizes on March 5, 2026 at 1:30 p.m., drawing on data from reports delivered in 2024, 2025, and 2026. The committee will also discuss proposed new equity-based staffing standards designed to lower class sizes over a five-year period beginning in FY2027. The standards are intended to reduce staffing ratios to support classroom management and differentiated instruction.
