Council Approves Straw Votes on Dozens of FY26 Budget Items

During FY2026 budget deliberations, the Montgomery County Council held straw votes on more than 25 budget items spanning Economic Development and Transportation and Environment committees. Most items passed 11-0; several passed 9-0 with two members absent. Items included MCEDC funding, WSSCWater charges, Ride On transit, Vision Zero, the Montgomery County Green Bank, and the Department of Environmental Protection, among others.
