PS Committee Reviews Volunteer Fire and Rescue LOSAP Bill

The Public Safety Committee meets March 11, 2026 at 1 p.m. to review Bill 11-26, which would implement two four-percent Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) payment increases for eligible volunteer fire and rescue members. The increases are retroactive to monthly payments made since July 2024 and July 2025, respectively, in accordance with the 2023–2026 Memorandum of Agreement between the County and the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. The bill is sponsored by the Council President at the request of the County Executive, with Councilmember Sayles as cosponsor.
