Jawando Moves to Force Council Vote on Unmask ICE Act

Councilmember Will Jawando will make a motion at the March 17 Council session to add Bill 5-26, the Unmask ICE Act, to the March 24 agenda for a worksession and vote. Councilmember Kristin Mink plans to second the motion; the motion requires six affirmative votes to pass. The bill would prohibit law enforcement officers from wearing masks or facial coverings while on duty in Montgomery County, with exceptions for SWAT, public health, and water rescues.
