Elrich Proposes FY27 Budget With Tax Increases

County Executive Marc Elrich released his recommended FY27 Operating Budget on March 16, 2026, proposing a 6.3-cent property tax increase and a 0.1 percentage point income tax increase (from 3.2% to 3.3%). The budget also includes $18.96 million in expenditure reductions. The County Council will review the proposal over coming months before adopting a final budget in May, with the new budget taking effect July 1.
