Council Reviews $8B FY2027 Budget with Tax Increases

County Executive Marc Elrich released his Recommended Fiscal Year 2027 Operating Budget, totaling more than $8 billion. The proposal includes a 6.3-cent property tax increase, a 3.3% local income tax rate, increased solid waste charges, and creation of special taxing districts. The Council will hold five public hearings on the budget on April 7, 8, and 9, 2026.
