The James Hubert Blake High School Boys Basketball Team finished the season 25–1 and won the MPSSAA Class 4A Maryland State Championship, the first state title in the school's history. Councilmembers Luedtke, Evans, Jawando, and Mink presented the team with a proclamation last week. The Magruder High School Boys Basketball Team also reached the MPSSAA Class 3A State Championship game.
