PHP Committee Reviews Housing, Recreation FY27 Budgets April 13

The Planning, Housing and Parks (PHP) Committee, chaired by Councilmember Andrew Friedson, will meet on April 13, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. to review FY27 operating budgets for the Office of Agriculture (more than $1.6 million), Department of Recreation (more than $71 million, a 4.3 percent increase), Department of Housing and Community Affairs (more than $77.7 million, a 7.1 percent decrease), and the Housing Initiative Fund (more than $52.3 million, a 12.6 percent decrease). The DHCA decrease reflects shifts in debt service and operating expenses, while the Housing Initiative Fund decline is primarily driven by an increase in projected debt service transfers reducing available operating resources.
