TE Committee Reviews $45.7M DEP Budget, Water Charge Hike

The Transportation and Environment (TE) Committee will meet on April 20, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to review the $45.7 million FY27 Operating Budget for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), including the General Fund, Water Quality Protection Fund, and Climate Change Planning NDA. The County Executive recommends an Equivalent Residential Unit rate of $157.50 for the Water Quality Protection Charge, a $10.50 (7.1%) increase from the FY26 rate of $147. The combined DEP budget represents a $3.45 million (7%) increase over the approved FY26 budget.
