DHHS Behavioral Health Budget Jumps 48% to $98.3M in FY27

The HHS Committee will review the $98.3 million FY27 Operating Budget for DHHS Behavioral Health and Crisis Services (BHCS) on April 20, 2026, a $31.8 million (48%) increase from the approved FY26 budget. The jump is primarily driven by the realignment of Children, Youth, and Family programs into BHCS and operating budget impacts from new mandates for the Crisis Stabilization Center. The department covers behavioral health, crisis response, therapeutic mentoring, Linkages to Learning, and High School Wellness Center programs.
