Council Begins FY27 Budget Worksessions on $8 Billion Proposal

Montgomery County Council committees have begun worksessions on the FY2027 operating budget, which totals approximately $8 billion. The sessions follow public hearings where more than 200 speakers testified, and will cover education, public safety, safety net services, and proposed income and property tax increases requested by the County Executive. The Council is expected to take final action on the budget at the end of May 2026.
