Sayles Opposed FY26 Property Tax Increase Proposal

Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles publicly opposed the County Executive's proposed property tax increase in April 2025 during the FY26 budget deliberations. She advocated instead for budget reallocations to fund schools, public safety, and community services without raising taxes. Sayles cited rising living costs and residents leaving the county as reasons to avoid a tax increase.
