County Libraries Lend Thermal Cameras for Home Energy Audits

Montgomery County Public Libraries are offering thermal camera loans to residents, allowing them to attach the cameras to smartphones to identify insulation gaps, heating inefficiencies, and water problems around their homes. The program was highlighted in the county's January 13, 2026 energy newsletter as a tool for detecting air leaks before making weatherization improvements. Residents can borrow the cameras from any branch.
