MCCouncilSep 11, 2026
The PHP Committee will review Bill 9-26 on Sept. 14, 2026 at 1:30 p.m., which would require detached single-family homes offered for rent to meet air-conditioning standards currently exempted under 2020's Bill 24-19. The bill would also extend the mandatory AC period from June–September to May 15–September 30. A temporary waiver process would be available for single-family landlords during a transition period. Lead sponsor is Councilmember Kristin Mink.
