Bill to Remove OLO Minimum Wage Report Requirement Introduced
Montgomery County CouncilJan 19, 2026
Council President Natali Fani-González will introduce Bill 1-26 at the Jan. 20 Council meeting, which would remove the requirement that the Office of Legislative Oversight produce an annual report on the county minimum wage and local economy. The change is prompted by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis discontinuing county-level data collection for four key indicators and data availability issues stemming from the 2025 federal government shutdown. A public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24.
