COG Meeting Friday on SNAP, Medicaid, Food Security

A joint meeting of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments FARM and Human Services Policy Committee is scheduled for Friday, September 18, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at COG headquarters in Washington, D.C., with a virtual participation option. The session will feature findings from the Capital Area Food Bank's 2026 Hunger Report and discussion among Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. leaders on the impact of federal changes to SNAP and Medicaid on food security. Councilmember Friedson, who chairs the FARM Policy Committee, will co-chair the meeting.
