Committee Eyes Vehicle Repair Uses in Rural Village Overlay Zone

The PHP Committee will review Zoning Text Amendment 26-09 on Sept. 14, 2026 at 1:30 p.m., which would allow vehicle repair as limited uses in the Rural Village Center (RVC) Overlay Zone. Currently, such uses are only permitted as conditional uses. The amendment would also reduce the setback for major repair from 100 feet to 50 feet from abutting residential lot lines for new buildings, and allow alternative shade structures such as canopies or cool pavements. Lead sponsor is Council Vice President Marilyn Balcombe.
