Community Action Board Holds Annual Retreat in Silver Spring

The Community Action Board held its annual retreat on August 6, 2026, at the Housing Opportunities Commission office in downtown Silver Spring. Board members, Head Start Parents Policy Council leaders, and agency staff reviewed the Community Needs Assessment, assessed the past year's accomplishments, and set priorities for the coming year. Standing advocacy priorities include VITA/Earned Income Tax Credit, Head Start, work supports, food security, affordable housing, and access to services.
