Community Advocacy Institute Marks 10 Years, 28 New Graduates

The Montgomery County Community Action Board held a graduation ceremony for the 28 newest completers of its free, bilingual Community Advocacy Institute (CAI), marking the program's 10th anniversary. The eight-month program, open to income-eligible county residents, now counts 195 alumni trained in skills such as public testimony, advocacy strategy, and working with elected officials. County Executive Marc Elrich and Council Members Shebra Evans, Laurie-Anne Sayles, and Kate Stewart attended the event.
