Council Hearing on Housing Discrimination, Lease Termination Bill Sept. 15

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing on Bill 38-26, Discriminatory Housing Practices and Early Lease Termination – Amendments, on Sept. 15, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the Council Office Building. The bill would prohibit discrimination based on citizenship or immigration status in the sale or rental of housing, and allow landlords to permit early termination of residential leases under certain circumstances. The deadline to sign up to testify is Sept. 14, 2026 at 2 p.m.
