DHHS Allocated $574M; Homelessness Services Get $68.2M

The Department of Health and Human Services is allocated $574 million in the FY2027 operating budget, making it the second-largest budget component. The allocation includes $68.2 million for services to end and prevent homelessness—covering supportive housing, rapid rehousing, and housing stability—and more than $98 million for behavioral health and crisis services, including the county's 24-hour crisis center, school-based mental health, and trauma treatment programs. Nonprofit service providers will receive a 3.5% inflationary increase to help sustain service levels amid rising costs.
