FY27 Budget Allocates $96M-Plus for Housing Assistance

The Montgomery County FY27 budget invests more than $96 million in housing assistance, including $28 million for rental assistance through the Housing Initiative Fund and $68 million for DHHS programs to end and prevent homelessness. Within that total, $8.9 million is allocated for the SHaRP program — a $2 million increase — projected to help 396 families with children avoid or exit housing instability.
