FY27 Budget Fully Funds Homeless Shelter Programs, Raises Nonprofit Aid

The FY27 Montgomery County budget fully funds shelter and housing-insecurity programs for unhoused residents. The inflationary funding adjustment for county nonprofit partners was increased from the County Executive's proposed 2.5% to 3.5%. Councilmember Stewart, who represents the district with the largest number of county shelters, identified both items as priorities she advocated for during the budget process.
