Joint Committee Reviews $252K Head Start Nursing Services Appropriation

The joint Government Operations, Health and Human Services, and Education and Culture committees will meet at 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 3 to review a $252,274 supplemental appropriation for the Department of Health and Human Services' Head Start program nursing services. The funding addresses a budget shortfall and will cover operating expenses for five contractual nurses providing health services aligned with Head Start performance standards. The county's Head Start program serves children from birth to age five at no cost for income-eligible families.
