Joint EC-HHS Committee Reviews $56M Children and Youth Services Budget

The joint Education and Culture and Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will meet on April 27, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. to review the FY27 Operating Budget for DHHS Children, Youth, and Family Services — more than $56 million total, a 21.2% increase driven partly by an internal DHHS reorganization. The committee will also review School Health Services (up $1.6 million, 3.2%) and the newly realigned School-Based Mental Health and Related Services (down $432,907, 1.6%). Committee members include Chairs Will Jawando and Laurie-Anne Sayles, and Councilmembers Evans, Mink, Friedson, and Luedtke.
