Maryland Signs SB 892 Requiring Menopause Care Insurance Coverage

Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed SB 892, which requires health insurance companies to cover doctor visits and treatment related to menopause when deemed medically necessary. The law also requires the Maryland Department of Health to identify at least one provider training program on menopause symptoms and mandates that healthcare licensing boards offer continuing education credits for completing such training. The Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland Commission for Women are required to submit reports on implementation.
