Montgomery County has designated six locations as cooling centers during the July 4 holiday weekend heat emergency, open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at East County, Jane E. Lawton, Silver Spring, Upper County, and Wheaton Community Recreation Centers, plus Rockville Memorial Library. Standard amenity services such as weight rooms and gymnasiums will not be available at these locations during the cooling center hours.
